Little Joys

Sweater Acorn Ornament by Laurie @ junque rethunque

When I discovered that the Arkansas Women Bloggers were hosting a handmade ornament swap, I signed up as soon as my browser would load the registration form.  And then I waited, checking my email every few minutes (for a few days) to learn who AWB paired me with.  After spying on learning about Rachael at Fiber Peep by perusing her blog, I decided that my new obsession with pom-poms would have to meet an old obsession with beads.  So, here’s hoping that she’s a fan of the peacock greens that I’m currently obsessed it.

Merry little tinsel treeThen, I got the cutest package in the mail and had to wait sooooooooooooooo long (ok, maybe just a few days) to say anything!  But please do click on those little pictures to see the adorable packaging my Secret Santa wrapped the even cuter sweater acorn ornaments in.

My eclectic, nostalgia-meets-nature tinsel tree is wrapped in ribbon from Bob’s and my wedding and hosts an array of vintage glass balls, some of Bob’s childhood ornaments, mini billiards balls, glass pine cones, and (lots of) birds.  So the the tiny trio of acorns: perfect!

Thank you, Laurie – and thanks to AWB for organizing the swap!

    • Aren’t they?! Yeah, not 100% sure how she made them, but I found a cute (easy) tutorial to make silk/fabric acorns in an old copy of Better Homes & Gardens. If I try it out, I might share some with you :)

    • Thanks! Yes, I couldn’t have been more surprised or happier when I discovered my cute little acorns!

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a moment to leave a comment :)
